Toys for Tots

Every child deserves a little Christmas!

The Marine Corps Toys for Tots Foundation, an IRS recognized 501(c) (3) not-for-profit public charity, is the authorized fund raising and support organization for the Toys for Tots Program. The Foundation provides the funding and support needed for successful annual toy collection and distribution campaigns.  While Toys for Tots coordinators organize, coordinate and manage the campaign, the ultimate success depends on the support of the local community and the generosity of the people who donate toys.

On December 11th, 2010, through the incredible coordination of a single individual and My Bartender client, Beth W., the Toys for Tots program was presented with close to 250 toys and hundreds of additional dollars in cash for the 2010 annual toy drive.  Beth, along with her husband and several close friends, hosted a semi-formal party at the Bamboo Grove Salon in SE PDX for about 100 guests, family and friends.  The entrance fee to this party was simple…each person was asked to bring a toy for this incredible program and in return, they would be treated to fantastic libations, great gourmet food and some incredible music to dance the night away.

Because of her guests generosity, the evening was a complete success with double the amount of toys expected and a significant amount of cash being donated as well.  My Bartender was proud to not only supply our services for this perrenial, worthwhile cause but each bartender brought a toy to donate and all gratuities received at the bar were donated to the program.  Thank you to all who tipped generously and to Beth for inviting us to be a part of what looks to be an annual event for her.  We’re looking forward to raising even more in 2011.
