Bridges to Equality – HRC Portlands 2010 Gala Brunch
300-plus gay and gay-friendly folks woke up at the break of dawn (okay, noon) on Sunday in support of the Human Rights Campaign and the Portland chapter’s first ever “Gala Brunch” entitled “Bridges to Equality” at the spacious Pure Space in Northwest Portland. It was quite the star-studded affair with the likes of The Tonight Show’s Ross Matthews as one of its emcees —along with PDX radio personality Tara Dublin—as well as speaker John Berry, the director of U.S. Office of Personnel Management (p.s. if you are a federal employee he’s your boss). Other well-known names in attendance included Gus Van Sant, Thomas Lauderdale as well as Courtney Taylor and Holcombe Waller (who performed a beautiful version of the Beatles classic “8 Days A Week”).
My Bartender was thrilled to be a part of this fantastic event providing a full array of delicious cocktails, micro brew beer, wine, champagne and a pre-event Bloody Mary Bar for the VIP lounge that was a huge hit. Many thanks for the generous donations from Honest Teas, Widmer Brothers Brewing, Barefoot Bubbly, and Arbor Brook Winery. All My Bartender staff time was graciously donated for this event (thanks crew!!) as were the bar products, mixers, juices and other beverages.
